18 Month Check Up

Jake had his 18 month check up yesterday. He weighs 24 pounds and 15 ounces and is 33 3/4 inches long. Everything looks healthy with him. She said that he is developing normal. He is a little behind on his speech. So we are going to work hard with him in the next two months to get him to say some words. He loves going to Nursery. He turns around and waves at us and starts playing while the other kids are hanging on their parents. He is a very sociable little boy. We are gald that he is developing so well.

Get Your Videos

We tried an experiment yesterday with our digital camera since we can take video with it and put it on the computer. We took Jake down to our local playground to slide down the slide, which he really loves. I got some video and posted it to the website. The file is fairly large and takes a while to download, but you should be able to view it on your computer.

Try it out! Click on the video link to get it.

The Book of Mormon & Conversion

hey how is the family today? i couldn´t write last week because the internet place close to our house wasn´t open because it was a holiday. sorry. but i hoped you all had a great week. this last week was good. i learned alot. i had the oppurtunity to baptize a little girl on sunday she is 10. it was cool and i felt the spirit. the water was really cold. but as i was saying the words i felt warm the warmth of the spirit. it was very spiritual. the spirit testified of the baptism and it was very good. she was ready and it was a great experience. i was a little sick last thurday and friday, i stayed in the house sleeping on friday with a cold but i already beat it. it was a good week. my faith was raised to a new level. yesterday we contacted a referral, the man called for the book of mormon and wanted the book, he had already read a little bit. we are goin to work with this man and see what happens. he was prepared and i realized that heavenly father is preparing people for us to teach. i jsut need to have faith and find them huh. that is hard. but we taught that guy and it was a good lesson and it went so smooth. i hope he receives his answer. i thought alot about many things this week. i liked brad´s talk on the atonement and how we are all fallen with out the atonement. but i have been thinking about conversion. in alma i was reading today and the anti-nephi-lehis were a converted people and they showed their conversions through actions. also with the king in his prayer to become covnerted and to know the truth in like 20 of alma. how can we become converted? the answer lyes with reading the book of mormon. many people here on the mission tell me they dont believe in other books than the bible. i love the book of mormon and the miracle this book has done in my life. we become converted with the help of this book and we beat our weaknesses walking with this book. it is the keystone of our religion. that is the little thought i wanted to share with you guys today, my love for that book and i know that it has our answers. we had a family night at this guys house on monday and i gave the message on obedience. it was good, i still get nervous speaking in portugues. i got an accent and that sucks but oh well. hey did byu win i hope so. well i love you guys, last night i had a dream i was holding jake in my arms and talking to him, it was funny. thanks for all the prayers and love. i wish the best for you all.
